Where We've Stayed in Alamogordo, New Mexico
The Walmart SuperCenter is right off Business 70 on the south side of Alamogodo. There are several RV parks in town, but if you're just looking for an overnight stop the Walmart fills the bill.
As is usually the case, this Walmart is right on the main commercial street in town. It is easy to drive to, but make sure if you are coming into town from the south on US-70 you turn in before the Walmart. We didn't and ended up having to drive to way around the block, so to speak, to get back to it. We had no problems once we finally arrived at the large parking lot and so, spent a restful night with several other RV's. It was free as all Walmart's are, but the total cost in groceries and other items more than made up for the 'free' spot, lol. We stayed here in January of 2006.
